Instagram @flatspacee

The winner of Group E was 15-year-old @flatspacee who comes from France and loves fashion. He says the streetwear culture in his city is ”almost non-existent,” but there are some people with good style.

What inspired you to get into fashion? Are there any fashion icons you look up to?

“I love Instagram and the @slydeofficial’s app for inspo, @alvssa_ and @jacko.blythe or @tvbie19 and @toobrokeforysl are the best duos on Instagram and @alexbeckmans show us that we can get into fashion with cheap clothes. But my first inspiration was a friend.”

How would you say your style has changed and developed since you got into fashion?

“At the beginning, my style was very tight with slim jeans and very sober. Now I’m trying to wear more colors, trying something different. I’m recovering some clothes of my grandfather, and my mother gave me a lot of basics, what’s essential in fashion.”

How would you describe your style now?

“Actually, my style is very loose and classy. I love wide pants, shirts and a pullover above, so my style isn’t very comfortable in the summer :/"

What would you say you struggle with the most when it comes to fashion or is there something you find difficult?(Don’t have to answer if you can’t think of anything) And how do you try to overcome this?

"The looks from the others are very hard to ignore but it’s a work of ourselves to try to ignore this and continue to dress like you want because finally, clothes are a real way to express your own personality."

Do you have any specific go-to stores or brands when looking for clothing?

“When we don’t have a lot of money, some shops are very important like thrift stores. Some cheap clothes are beautiful and have good quality. Online resell apps are very good too, like Vinted or Depop. These apps are very easy to use and we can have some expensive but not luxury items for a very cheap price like Ralph Lauren. If u want to have some luxury clothes, try to see for some little luxury brands like @jacquemus.”

Do you have any advice that you would want to give to people who are looking to get into fashion or are struggling to find their own style? What would you tell someone who wants to improve their style?

“If you want to get into fashion, you must trust yourself. Your self-confidence is very important and there is nothing better than your friends to help you to acquire this self-confidence. My friends have always been a support for me. Try to turn the looks from others into something that shows that you are different and that is what proves that you have succeeded."
